Cement Manufacturer Benefits from Cost Reduction

The Problem

Our Indian client has grown significantly through acquisitions. So the manufacturing processes in their cement plants were not uniform with varying AFR, thermal efficiency and packaging process. As a result, the cost of finished products were higher than that the competitors and the business model was not sustainable

The Intervention

We suggested and supported our client by doing the following in two plants

  1. Short term and medium term strategy for optimal AFR and fuel efficiency

  2. Fuel mix optimization 

  3. Net zero product carbon plan development 

  4. Appropriate CSR projects to generate carbon offsets thus reducing the product carbon footprint

The Result

The client has started to get benefits in cost reduction in these two plants. Our consulting contract has been extended to 5 other plants and the engagement is ongoing.
